It is the third largest copper mine in Zambia, with an annual production of 24,000 tonnes and reserves estimated at 34m tonnes. Its operator, NFC Africa Mining, which is 85% owned by CNMC, is headed by Li Zhanyan in Kitwe, the Zambian copper mining capital.
